The little image {above} in the front, is a card from The Collective Store, it's by Owl and Pussycat. I love their cards and have a small collection now. The works hanging on the wall {framed} are mine, and the little one to the left {at the back} is mine, it's awaiting backing. And of course you can see 'Valentine and her cat' hiding behind Lisa, They have gotten undressed ready to go to another party. Hopefully I'll get to work on them tomorrow.
Below is my tray of oil paints, this is part of my table top easel that folds down to resemble a briefcase, you will see snippets of it in some of the other photos in this post. In the background are more of my paintings ready to be backed. I've cut the wood, and now need to glue the backings on, also a job for tomorrow.
So here's the backwards going forward bit... I know, what was I thinking?
I was not happy with the way the head was sitting on the body so I painted it out. This piece was such an unplanned one, too much variety in source material has resulted in a lot of fumbling around and changing. I also went back to my portrait colour mixing guide and mixed the dark, light and mid-tones for the Auburn hair colour, which was something I did not do when painting the original piece.
So out come the white paint again, and the hands and arms will now be reworked {another day}. Boy oh Boy, It's going to be a whole new painting when I finish with it! A much better painting though.
Above is a close up of the face, the paint has got very muddy, but that happens when I don't plan because the more you push around oils, the more they blend, and if you mix all the colours together you get brown or mud. I'll crisp it up once I have the composition correct {or to my liking}.
This is my first time sharing with 'What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday {WOYWW}'. It's such a fun idea and something that will hopefully make me more productive! I'm off to check out what everyone else is up to, see you over at:
You are one very talented painter, I dont have half that talent, I just make cards or alter stuff.

Welcome to WOYWW - how marvellous to have you along. Fascinated by your process. And by the 'paint it out' instead of 'hurl it in the bin and strop' theory - massively impressive...fair to say I like your work! I think having other's work around you is an inspiration too, hope you enjoy Lisa's companY!
