STUDIO UPDATE: Contrast

It's a cold rainy day here in Brisbane Australia today, perfect weather to lock oneself indoors with copious amounts of warm tea and paint! It's such a contrast to last Friday, when the sun was shinning and beckoning me outdoors to take advantage of the break in the wet weather to tend the garden and do the washing that had built up. I missed posting last Friday here for Painting Party Friday.  The days got away last week,  and before I knew it, it was the start of a new week, you know how that can be? So here's what I've been up to in the studio since the last Studio Update:

More paint was added on the big Garden painting.

Even more paint on the big Garden painting.

 And even more....

Below is a practice piece I did to capture the diffused light on the palms in the background of my big painting. At the moment I'm working on adding what I've learnt in this piece to the big Garden painting to give it more depth.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend and a productive and creative coming week.

  3. The tree area is looking fabulous. It's just like watching a garden grow, I can't wait to see where it goes next. Was the lizard there in the front earlier? I don't remember seeing him, he is so cute.
