It's good practice to sketch from life, that is what I keep reading in
my research into drawing and painting hands. It's been a long time
since I took the time to sit down and sketch
something from life, the last time I remember drawing my hand was in
uni, and that's going back about ten years.
This afternoon my desk was a park bench down by the water, I sat doing quick sketches of my hand in many different poses, with the afternoon breeze from the bay cooling me down, It was a stinker today,
Tracey and
Jaz can attest for that, I know you both must have been feeling the heat today, I was thinking of you both.
On my stroll back, I found these gorgeous flowers littering the grass below the tree they had fallen from, aren't they just beautiful?
I'm linking with Julia's '
What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday', It's been a few weeks since I've shared, I have been peaking a look at the other desks, but have not been able to get it together to post.
I hope you are all having a beautiful day/night. xx
you weren't kidding when you said it was a stinker today, but it is always cool down by the water... so looking forward to seeing what your hand sketches look like... I was already in awe of the way you paint hands so you are going to completely blow me away now... perfect flowers for the last official day of summer... I sooo hope autumn starts soon for us...xx
ReplyDeleteLove the hibiscus in the bowl, very pretty. Your sketching looks fab. Have a lovely day.

What pretty delicate flowers you found. I think sketching hands would be difficult--for one thing one will be in use while doing so. Hands are so fascinating and tell quite the story though.
ReplyDeleteGreat sketches! Hands have always been my weak spot (ok, hands and feet). Yours came out fab. Those flowers are awesome! Love the yellow color. It just pops in the vase. Have a great WOYWW! -Amanda 80
ReplyDeleteI was so cold today I put on my bedsocks!!! And really it has turned quite mild but I still don't envy your heat. Your sketches are amazing! Happy WOYWWing. Debbie #89
ReplyDeleteEvery time I pop by your work inspires me to get my pencils out, but then something else grabs my attention. I really must stop & do some drawing again, I used to be pretty good, but I don't do enough to become really good. Happy Wednesday to you, enjoy your snoop around the oh so creative desks and take care. Zo xx 83
ReplyDeleteThose hand sketches are really great, never hurts to get back to basics. Just wish I would listen to that advice. Such lovely flowers for the last day of summer. I cheat and have aircon in my room :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

Von,
DeleteThanks for the lovely comment, apologies for the late reply.
I have air con too, which it really nice, I could not work without it!
Looking forward to meeting you soon.

I made an AB with nothing but hands, but yours are amazing. Mine were magazine images! And those are beautiful flowers. I would have been here earlier, but I got caught in a tornado early Wed morning. Here's to a belated WOYWW from #3.
ReplyDeletewow you are quite talented my hand sketches are only good for making a turkey picture LOL have a great day
ReplyDeleteHands are very hard. Well, they are when I get it into my head to draw them! Yours look great, imagine, just sketching like this while sitting in the sun, how marvellous! Imagine too, it being only ten years since you left Uni!!!
