Studio Update: More PAINT

Thanks for stopping by. I can hardly believe it's the end of the week again. Remember how I had started this painting last week? Well, I've added some more paint. Now you can see what's in her lap! And she has a basket of eggs too.

Here's my palette, it's got more paint too.

  2. I've probably said this before but I really love your style. This is prob the wrong word but personally I find your paintings very expressive - you seem to capture the moment and emotions on the people's faces perfectly. I really like participating in P&P and checking out your blog for tips and latest works often. Am thinking about attempting a portrait soon - using the tips about the Sargeant method you posted about before.

Also, how do I put those little button linkies in my blog posts??

    1. Thanks Ellie, your words about my art and blog touch me, it's wonderful to be told how much you appreciate what I do.

For the links, you can copy them by selecting the picture/s (above or on other blogs) and pushi ctrl+c to copy (on a pc). Then paste them into your blog post by pushing ctrl +v (on a pc - Mac is command instead on control in both cases) this is the simple way to do it. Most of the parties have a page explaining the linky party rules and give you the HTML code to add a button to your blog/or blog post. You can find mine in the P&P tab at the top of my blog page. You copy and paste the HTML code it the HTML section of your blog post where you wish for it to appear. Let me know if you still have trouble and I'll send you through step by step screen shots with instructions.

  9. Her face is slightly larger than a fifty cent piece, it's such a challenge to get all the info in, so it makes me happy to hear that you like her expression and face.

  15. I have really studied this and am learning a lot from your technique. I have a painting on the easel downstairs in a very similar state. Funny though how it's turning out to be quite different from what I originally planned. She clearly doesn't want flowers and leaves in her hair - fickle girl!
