This week, the P&P blog party is back in full swing. There has been a few changes to the way it's run though, as this is something new for me - running a blog party - I'm learning as I go and having to adapt with concerns and issues raised on the way. There is now a blog page dedicated to P&P, it explains what is involved in participating in the Blog party. Also I'm holding a survey (see above) to find out if participants would like to put a stop to the sharing of the SHOWCASE on other social platforms. If you have a opinion, please vote, the general consensus will be acted upon. Below is my palette for P&P #7. It has more greens, browns and blues on it than usual this week, due to the Mona Lisa Background.
I also just added the photos of the two paintings I did of my nephews - which were gifted to my sister and her family for Christmas - to my Redlands Creative Alliance profile. If you are in the Redlands area and you are creative, this group is for you. I enjoy being a part of it.
It's great to be back in Blogland and playing along with Paint Party Friday, I see some of you kept blogging over the last few weeks. I intend to go back and have a look at the PPF links I missed, as I'm keen to see what you all got up too. I hope you had a fantastic Holiday and the start of the year is off to a wonderful start. See you at the parties!

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I wish you were my sister. :) What awesome gifts!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about paintings feeling alright one day then the next you spot so many things you want to change! I love this painting. I want to be brave and paint my cats!
ReplyDeleteI so love seeing your palette too, can't wait to have a real span of time so I can paint that way too! But am enjoying my art journal for now!
ReplyDeleteThe new background is really enhancing Valentine, and the paintings of your nephews are adorable. Their mom must have loved them.
ReplyDeleteI think it's amazing how critical we artists are about our own work. I LOVE this painting more and more every time I see it. In fact, if I had any extra money, I'd buy it......anyway, I think it's gorgeous, just GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF,
Stephanie
I love NatashaMays comment... wow, what fantastic gifts!!!
ReplyDeleteI do get that way with my art but when I ask friends about that same are they can't see it - and that is my reminder that maybe I have fallen too deeply into the art and need to step away from it for a while. After a day I have new eyes and a fresh perspective.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a colorful palette, so very vibrant and lots of texture. Yes I agree, what great gifts.
ReplyDeleteTracey, your WIP is beautiful. The colors just leap out. The crown on the cat's head is adorable and I love the smile on the girl's face. Faye
ReplyDeletei know just what you mean about finding fault with your work just when you think you're done! i usually see something wrong from a photo of my work rather than looking directly at a piece for some reason. your portraits of your nephews are fab-your sister musy've been delighted!
