STUDIO UPDATE: Moving onto the flowers!

This week has been quite exciting around the studio.

I've started practicing the Petunia flowers for the garden painting.

Above is a quick sketch in paint to understand the Petunia from different angles.

I found an excellent video on You Tube and did the above watercolour and pen sketch.
I must say, every time I get out the watercolours, I find a new respect for artist that work in this medium as their profession.

I then did some sketching in pen, simplifying the front on view of the Petunia.

And I am now in the process of doing some 3d animation studies to understand basic forms,
so I can get my head around flipping and changing the positioning of the Petunias.

I'm working my way through the Karmatoons Drawing Lessons.

I'm already starting to get a better grasp on perspective and changing the angles of shapes.

Isn't this sack CUTE!? It's taking on a life of its own.

Looking forward to visiting my Painting Party Friday friends and seeing what everyone has been up to this week.  Wishing you all a productive and creative coming week. xx
