It's Wednesday, which means a sneak pick into the studio! I've pulled out two paintings that have been put away over the last few weeks and I now have some time to dedicate to them, so I'm putting finishing touches on them, staring with 'He loves me' You can see it on my painting desk in front of the mini table easel in the photo below.
Valentine and Her Cat will also get some more paint over the next week, I'm thinking of putting a window in that blank space in the top left. Below you can see the draw from my table easel, it's full of oil paints, and those pieces of paper in the front are colour mixing recipes from 'Color Mixing Recipe for Portraits'. They are a great guide!
Here's a sneak peak at my Pallette and Paint for tomorrow's linky.
Can you see a face in the last P? All will be revealed at the blog party on Thursday.

ReplyDeleteHi there, I'm still lovin Valentine and her Cat. Just something so appealing about it. Every element just seems right so I'll be interested to see how the window works.

This is a great habit to start - it could serve as a photographic log of the state of creative affairs as you look back over a year of Wednesdays. I really need to start joining in!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tidy desk!
ReplyDeleteLove how light and bright your studio is, but I suppose that's a requirement for an artist! And it's tidy too!

your space just gets lovelier and lovelier Trace ... can't wait to see Valentine and her cat done...xx
ReplyDeleteYour desk is so clean and paints in order, how do you do it????
ReplyDeleteVon, Here I was thinking my desk was a little messy! Everything has it's place and it gets put back when I'm not working with it.
ReplyDeleteIt takes a lot of discipline :)
ReplyDeleteYour studio is lovely and light and has a tranquil feeling to it... love the girl and cat painting.
ReplyDeleteWow! Am a bit blown away by the way you casually tinker with oli paints and suggest adding a window...as if it's nothing...really enjoying your talent.
ReplyDeleteLoving the girl and cat and now realsie you mean a window on the canvas and not your studio wall. Such an inspiring place...Thanks for sharing a little of your life and desk! Sarah at 14
ReplyDeleteI love your art work, and the current picture especially so! Really beautiful. The colour mixing recipes sound a good idea! Happy WOYWW, Shoshi #70
ReplyDeleteYou really make wish I could paint. They are lovely, but I think I'd better stick to card craft lol, so as not to scare the neighbours, lol

Hi Tracey, me again! Thanks for your good wishes on my blog - I'm still feeling really rough with an extremely sore throat this a.m. and still no voice - it's been over a week now!! I just want to feel better enough to want to go in my ARTHaven and start creating again! As for my compliments on your art - well, they are well-deserved, as I know all my fellow blog hoppers will agree! I would just LOVE to be able to paint faces like that, and capture the "life behind the eyes" the way you do! I love seeing your palette mixes too. Your blog is so inspiring. Have a great weekend!
