What Begins with O?

Olivia and Her Octopus, that's what!  I can now reveal to you my painting and the topic for this months Monthly Painters Challenge. The topic was set by Jasmine from Art by Jaz (who recently did an interview with me). She picked such a fun and challenging topic, it was 'Something Beginning With O'. Once again I left it to the last minute, I literally just finished the painting and uploaded the image onto the page a moment ago. It seems like that is the way it's going to be...

Olivia and Her Octopus | Oil on Board | 15 x 22 cm | Available

After about three weeks of having the topic floating around in my head, I decided that I would like to paint an Octopus, of course I wanted to have a lady in the painting too. Meet Olivia, she does look like an Olivia, right? I originally had it in mind to do Ophelia, but she did not end up looking the part. Olivia is holding Oscar the Octopus who holds an Ornate {correction Ornamental} Onion.  Several neighbours have Ornate Onion's flowering in their gardens at the moment, it is so wonderful to see,
