29 Faces, Day 13: Jack

Doing a face each day on the ipad is proving more difficult than I thought. It's not so much the actual painting that's tripping me up, it's finding the time to sit down and actually do it. The whole aim of this series is to try and capture a likeness of the person I'm painting and develop my observation and painting skills. It's been a hugely beneficial project so far, even though I have been missing a day here and there. I've decided not to beat myself up about it and just do want I can.

  2. Well, the likeness is certainly there! I know what you mean, that doing a face a day proves more difficult than you thought. But it certainly is good practice!

  3. Just amazing Tracey... so funny... pulled out a page from the insert in yesterday's paper a couple of hours ago of the faces of Johnny Depp... I loved the Edward Scissorhand face too... and here he is again... just awesome...

  4. It's very time consuming, isn't it? That's one reason I've been interspersing simpler, quicker ones in with the more realistic ones. Plus, I really like both styles. I'm glad to see some new ones here. I always enjoy your faces!

  6. You've definitely captured his "yummalishiness"! Capt. Jack is one of my favorite characters. Each spring, I put out grape jelly for the returning Baltimore Orioles, and after a while, I'm able to tell most of them apart so I name them. There was a male who used to chatter at me all the time, and I called him Capt. Jack :o)
