Doing a face each day on the ipad is proving more difficult than I thought. It's not so much the actual painting that's tripping me up, it's finding the time to sit down and actually do it. The whole aim of this series is to try and capture a likeness of the person I'm painting and develop my observation and painting skills. It's been a hugely beneficial project so far, even though I have been missing a day here and there. I've decided not to beat myself up about it and just do want I can.

Time for a quick recap of my week in the studio for PPF!

here goes:

New paintings were taken to The Collective Store.

This month's panting for the MPC was started.

It's top secret until the 15th, hence the cover up.

More paint was squeezed out onto my palette!

I unfortunately dropped the ball on my portrait a day...

...and have only done two this week.

I'm hoping to catch up on the weekend.

It's Palette and Paint time! They roll around fast hey? It's great to see everyone back in to full swing with their paintings. Here's what everyone got up to last week for:

Ellie worked on some beautiful portraits whilst organizing for a big move.

Flo picked up the paintbrush again and finished an amazing triptych.

Stephanie shared the palette she used to finish her incredible 'Soul' Painting.

Nordljus showed us her lush oil sticks and a sneak peak of her finished (?) painting of trees.

Peggy shared this wonderful pic of her studio equipment and this LOVEly heart.

WORKDESK WEDNESDAY: On a Thursday, what am I thinking?

It's been a busy week, so far. I've been doing lots of little projects here and there and was away from the studio most of Wednesday. I run out of time {and energy} to actually post these photos I snapped in the morning of my studio, so here they are, on a Thursday.

For most of my WOYWW followers, you may be surprised, and relieved, that I have a cluttered workspace to share with you this week, bits and pieces everywhere! I didn't get a chance to do my evening clean up the previous night. I find if I keep on top of the mess and put away my 'things' at the end of the day, I can fight away the clutter bug within, well at least that's the plan. It seems more difficult when I've got a lot of projects on the go though.

Jeniffer has come about faster than yesterday's painting of Batman - which, to be honest with you, I was also working on this morning, and did not finish. Jeniffer will need more work in the coming weeks as well, I'll also upload this painting when it's finished.

STUDIO UPDATE: Painting faces on the ipad

I've spent most of this week getting familiar with using ArtRage and the Nomad Brush to paint portraits on the ipad. Here's the two I've completed so far:

I will be doing one portrait each day for the 29 Faces in February Challenge.

Below is a closer look at the Dual-ended Nomad Brush I'm using.

And here's the interface for ArtRage

I'm really impressed with the way that this combination replicates real painting.

I'm still working on today's 29 Face submission, I'll be doing more this evening and posting it tomorrow. In the meantime can you guess who today's portrait is going to be of? I'll give you a clue, it was my husbands suggestion - for those that follow my art page on facebook, this will be a easy.

I'm also taking suggestions of who I should paint for this series, so if there's someone you'd love to see me paint, please let me know in the comments.

If you've been reading my blog over the last week, you may have noticed that I've been a little per-occupied with painting on my ipad. I'm doing the 29 Faces Challenge, painting 29 Faces each day in February. I decided that I would do quick ipad sketches because they are convenient, and I've been meaning to use the Nomad Brush, I got just before Christmas, some have been quicker than others and I'm still getting the hang of using the ipad to create.

I'll talk more about my ipad painting in my Paint Party Friday post and give you a sneak peak at my ipad drawing number 3 for 29 Faces. I'm still working on it. I have another 4.45 hrs before it's the 4th, right? I may have to share it in the morning, if I run out of time.

I'm a day late {to my own party} but better late than never, hey?
